Coqui, coqui!
When a species is place in a habitat that is foreign to its own, it may cause some problems. Many species arrive by accident others are introduced illegally and irresponsibly released in the environment.
Our Web site presents two perspectives on the same animal, the Eleutherodactylus Coquí, the native animal species of our Enchanted Island, Puerto Rico. It is a very valuable species on our Island, yet it converts into an invasive species in another; what has happened on the Hawaiian Islands.
On this site we will discusses various topics on both perspectives; the value of the coquí for Puerto Rico and the problems the coquí causes as and invasive species. Among other things, you will also familiarized with other invasive species around the world and their impact on the invasive ecosystem.
Our commitment is to help people understand that we are all responsible for the conservation of our species and we must maintain a perfect with nature. Every time we destroy the habitat of a native species or take it to other countries we are placing that species in danger of being extinction and consequence, ours.
We hope you will enjoy and learn much about our Puerto Rican specie: the Eleutherodactylus coquí.
